EDURIGHTS4GIRLS - EQUAL ACCESS TO EDUCATION, A PROJECT DEDICATED TO YOUNG GIRLS IN NEAMȚ AND SUCEAVA COUNTIES

GO-AHEAD Bucharest Association, in partnership with Neamț County School Inspectorate and Suceava School Association for Education and Development, launched on March, 1 the EDURIGHTS4GIRLS - Equal access to education project.

The project aims a change of perspective in the educational area, through personal development programs for young girls from Neamț and Suceava counties, a change with medium term impact in order to increase self-esteem and combat gender stereotypes among those who complete long term school, an improvement at the level of the Romanian society.

From a statistical point of view, Romania is on the first place in the European Union in terms of number of births among adolescents. Therefore, the main objective of the project is to increase the capacity of the awareness level and application of human rights, especially those related to gender issues and access / right to education through specific measures.

At least 480 students and 210 teachers from 14 schools in Neamț and Suceava counties will benefit from personal development sessions, counseling and therapy. Over 2000 people, including students, parents, teachers, actors from the targeted communities will benefit from extensive awareness, monitoring and advocacy. The implementation period of the project is 24 months, with a total value of 248,853.72 Euros.

The project is carried out by GO-AHEAD Bucharest Association, in partnership with Neamț County School Inspectorate and ASSED - Suceava School Association for Education and Development, with financial support from Active Citizens Fund Romania, program funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA Grants 2014-2021.
